CWTF & Marc: agreed. The fact that the market feels the need to provide a product like this (and run the risk of “progressive” legislation) is a testament to the efficacy of our justice system at deterrence.

How about throwing the book at the thugs who use the pointy knives to hurt other people and let the non-evil vast majority, who use their knives to cut their steak, choose the kind of knife they prefer.

If the knives are actually better than regular knives why not, but that’s highly doubtful. Like I said, let the free market decide.

I can easily see illogical and scared people wanting these knives to be required by law – “think of the children” or some other nonsense….

It’s amazing how many civil liberties, tax hikes, and other vulgarities you can get away with when you do it in the name of the children…

Yes – good point that this is not regulated. “Nanny State” reflects a larger social philosophy of baking in “security” and “safety” to the point of farce, which arguably, this may or may not be.

You know that anything that is labelled “Intelligent design” is going to be rather stupid…

I’m not sure the where nanny state comes in, they are no required yet and normal knives have not been banned.

As long as the choice of knife is voluntary, I say let the free market decide… I’ll stick to my Misonos for the time…
